Connection/Server Problems @ Pbase

Post Thu Sep 29, 2005 1:30 pm

Just curious if everyone is experiencing Pbase speed issues? My DSL at times just chugs along so slowly when leaving comments on PaDs. I would guess others are experiencing this problem just from the amount of "double comments" I see each day.

I'm sure I am spending at least twice the amount of time necessary at this task each day. Sometimes it is worse than others.

Any feedback? Any ideas/solutions? :?:

I think I saw a little slug message a bit ago (on a white screen when I couldn't connect) that said they were changing up some hardware? But it's been slow for days now.

Any feedback? Any ideas/solutions?

I have been experiencing the same problem for several days. It is painfully slow trying to view PAD images and leave comments. One day, I just gave up out of frustration. For a while today, the site was completely unreachable. I am using a DSL connection and have not been having problems with other web sites.--Rene

I'm having exactly the same problem for a couple of weeks now. Even though I use a DSL, many times pbase is so slow. Many times I need many seconds until pbase responses in any of my clicks. Slug did some upgrades, but the problem is still there.

I don't know if it's a coincidence but whenever I visit pBase, I seem to have the 'doubleclick' spyware on my PC.

It's easily removed by Adaware free software but is very irritating.

Does your's reply

I have yelled at every part of mine with no luck :?

I guess I should have added (as others have) that this seems to be a problem only on Pbase.

I've been trying to go on my rounds, looking at other folk's pics (in my usual random erratic way). But it's just nearly impossible.

Yes it's a distressing stop-and-go.

YES, connection problems are becoming more frequent, but speed problems are becoming almost standard. I have a cable connection and it can take many seconds for pages to load, even while just viewing.

It's even running slow down here on the Spratley Islands!

I get so tired of these dragging connections. The good news is that Pbase must be well used and popular. That bad news is that I get disgusted and stop commenting.

Oh I only wish I had these issues! Everything is slow on dial-up! (Good thing its only temporary, as hopefully are the pbase problems!)

Well, this weekend has been exceptionally slow. I logged on this afternoon to check out PaDs and comment. It took 15 minutes to leave my first 4 comments. REDICULOUS!!!

It speeds up a bit, slows down again. I think I left the same comment 5 times on one image. It seems to do nothing for a minute or so, I stop it and send comment again... repeat

I'm getting tired of all of the wasted time. I'm on my final month of my first subscription and finding the decision to renew more and more difficult. The problems seem to be getting worse :?

SLUG... any real upgrades coming?

Yes, extremely slow today. My cable connection feels more like the pony express. Several times today I gave up on leaving comments and viewing others' photos because of the time it was taking for each page to load, if they load at all.

I'm not usually one to complain, but the problems are getting worse. And since we don't hear from anyone we have no way of knowing if things are being worked on or not. Extremely frustrating! :x
