How many PADders from the O.C. California area?

Post Mon Jun 06, 2005 4:19 pm

After meeting David Winge yesterday at the Tustin Chili Cook-off I started wondering just how many other PBase/PAD photographers are from the Orange County area?

I'm in O.C.

I was planning to meet David out there also, but I forgot my cell phone. I was out there from about 3:30 to 4:30. I kept my eyes open for guys with cameras but didn't see any.

I went to the Swap Meet beforehand and actually found a lot more to shoot there than at the Chili Cookoff.

Hi Jeremy!

Yeah David said something about waiting for your call. Yesterday it seemed way too crowded to get many good shots, (that is of course unless you're as tall as avid, hahaha).

I was supposed to shoot the O.C. AIDS Walk at UCI yesterday, but my sons insisted I meet them at the cook-off.

Here is my PAD from the cook-off...

That's an excellent Orange County shot. O.C. is a very red county in the midst of a blue state (or is it the other way around).

Walking back from the cookoff to my car, I discovered that Old Town Tustin has a lot of interesting backdrops for portrait photos. Here's two examples I took of my daughter yesterday (the first was yesterday's PaD):

If any of you folks are interested, I run two San Diego based
photography groups and membership is free.

You can sign up on the internet and take part via your computer.
Info is on the website.

If you'd like to attend a meeting, by all means come join us
sometime. Meetings are roughly every two weeks, rotating between
the locations.
Several PADder's are current members.

Gary,

I looked through the thread about where PaDers live and you and Dave were the only O.C. people. I know of one more, Scott Lovers lives in Fullerton.

Not much of a group, but I guess we could let Steve (dazedgoneby) join in from San Berdu.

I guess there's not many artists in Orange County.

Dave (Winge) was thinking that anyone within 100 miles would probably not have much of a problem with a single get together. Sounds like fun!

Yeah, everyone in Orange County calls San Bernadino "San Berdu".

I guess Scott Lovers is not his name, it appears that he is a "scottie lover", as in the little dogs I think.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I'm in, there are plenty of great places to meet, the beach would certainly be an option, should we look for some event or happening going on in July?
