Of All The Stupid...

Post Wed Dec 07, 2005 4:20 am

I was playing Mr. Nice Guy yesterday and was delivering a gift television to a friend for her birthday (a used one but a good one).
It sat in the back of my vehicle for easy removal when I would get to her house where her boyfriend and I would unload it.
As I approached a traffic light on an incline on the way there, it decided to roll backwards and crushed my laptop which was in a backpack towards the middle area (I had forgotten it was there).

Prognosis? $800 to repair.
The television survived intact.

Please line up to give me a swift kick in my ass.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, especially when doing something nice for others. However, me thinks you are too easily willing to line us up to give you a swift kick in the ass. Ya know, some people have to pay for that kind of thing!

So Sorry

I am so sorry Dan. Hope your laptop is repaired quickly. I like someone's idea about paying for this. Like the Kissing booths in the fairs, maybe you can have a Kicking Booth. :)

Ouch, $800, sorry about that Dan. You might win some points for your next life for your kindness though.

Don't let it sour you, keep your eye on the long term, and just
remember what Malcolm Forbes once said: "Contrary to the cliché,
genuinely nice guys most often finish first or very near it."

Nice guys actually finish somewhere between third and seventh.

Generally.
