Odd successes or outcomes - the day PaD changed your life?

Fantastic to hear Tor had won a car with a PaD picture.

Has anyone else won something, had something surprising happen, changed their life because of PaD?

Other than people just think you're more crazy than before!!

Just a thought :)

It counts for sure, Jeanne..

Me? Sometimes you think you're life is set .. and the plans are laid .. and you find out you've not even begun to live ... but now you can for however long it lasts.

pbase has been berry berry good to me. :D

I've never won anything.. but the posting of photos itself has helped me to progress and gain confidence and be secure in my instincts.. Once in a while i run into the guy who told me about this site.. and I always thank him profusely.

I'm naturally not given to grand statements but PaD changed my life, though I no longer do it. Photographically, it sent my work ethic and desire to improve into overdrive. Personally, pbase - and PaD as the hub of it - had a part to play in turning my life upside down but in doing so showed me things that wiped the slate clean for the future, like jude said, re-defined living and made me understand crucial things about myself. Like I said, I usually scoff at this sort of thing so for me to say it means I really mean it.

I am writing a psycho-socio-photographic essay on my Pbase experience...
Wait and see :)

My paperwork is always behind, my car goes unwashed, and I haven't cooked a family meal in months. PBAse is ruining my life!

[Only kidding! LOL.]

Feels like a full circle after over a year. Been doing PADs before pbase and will be doing PADs forever. Got into the habit of posting that picture everyday and then deleting it at the end of the month if I didn't like it. Stopped doing that, posting daily. Waste of my time and bandwidth.

In my blood to take pix, obsessive compulsive behavior. So PAD on pbase hasn't changed my life, just made me happier that I'm not the only insane one.... :)

Been a big impact..

It about seeing .. I notice different things and get excited about trying to capture in a raw file what my eyes and mind see.

It about walking -- the hard ware in my back had to removed, so walking is key to me getting better.

It about being inspired - there are so many talented photgraphers who I learn from just viewing their work..

So for me it has been a big impact...

Doing my PAD has really made a big difference in my life. I began to shoot daily photos in later September of 2003 after seeing about 30 or so people (the original PADers that Jypsee seems to hate SO much) doing it.

At first I wanted to do it just to learn how to use my new Canon EOS 10D. I bought the camera a little earlier just to take photos whenever the mood stuck me. I liked doing it but it wasn’t a passion or anything. The camera had SO many features and even the basics of photography were a mystery. For instance, what the heck was an f-stop??? LOL

Well, as time went by I began to find I was falling in love with shooting. The more I tried to get a daily photograph, the more I learned about my camera and photography. The really big change was the creative energy I began to pour into the project. The excitement of finding and shooting a decent image every day really awakened the “inner artistâ€

I've had a few emails and have had people wanting to use pics for books, a cd cover, and have had lots of people wanting prints.

It's nice and encouraging. And unexpected.
