This works for me. Limit the time to 30 mins, pressure can be very creative. Limit where you are going to shoot. This forces you to look around you for interesting compositions, buy a macro lens :)

You can in fact do a surprising amount of photography in half an hour:

As other folks have mentioned, it's absolutely true that the PaD rules are usually set by the photographer him/herself. It's just that what drew me to PaDding in the beginning was the discipline needed to shoot and post every day. That intrigued me. I have sloppy work habits in my real life, and I thought the discipline would be a cool addition.

So the rules I chose for myself drove me a bit crazy...LOL.

The replies in this forum have been much appreciated.

I didn't mean any offense Bob. I know what you mean - even posting a picture a day from my archives is starting to make me crazy.

No offense taken. PaDders set their own rules, and in trying to meet some sort of "ideal" situation, I was getting burned out.

I can shoot every day. But as I scan the galleries here, I'm also so incredibly daunted at the quality of the work. ANN LT, for example. I can't imagine that I could take one picture as good as her if I took a whole month of trying, yet she pops at least one amazing out there every day. So, although I may shoot something every day, when I sit there and stare at the images, I usually say: "What shit is this?" Haha.

But it's all been a learning experience, and a pbase membership is simply the best expense I've made in a long time, education vs. costwise.

Cheers to all,
WT

BAM!!

WT - The nail has been hit on the head.

This, forum, PaD, populars, and the whole pbase experience is all about learning. If at the end of the week or month you feel good about something you have learned the time spent is well worth it.

$23 per year is extremely cheap for education.

I started my PAD on 1st April. I think the wall is going to come sometime in the winter - my photography is mainly outdoors, rural stuff. Winter in Southern England usually means grey damp days.

I'm not so enthusiastic about shooting too many indoor macros - much as I respect those that do. Perhaps this will be another benefit of the PAD experience - we'll see.
