So what would you charge?

I have been asked by a company to shoot images of a new mall. Any idea what spending a day at a mall w/camera would be worth?
I love photoshopography.......

I would say $50.00 - $75.00 per hour would be reasonable, which would include the time spent on site and a couple hours processing. Maybe $100.00 an hour if you spend five hours of less at it.

But it largely depends on what they're willing to spend. Maybe $500.00 is five times more than they were thinking ...

Gary you are a great photographer and it sounds like a commercial job. About $3000 for one day's job is reasonable.

Work out what you think you should earn a year if you were doing this full time. Add a contingency for kit, ie how much your gear is depreciating, and for misc expenses (advertising, insurance, phone bills etc)... divide this figure by 120 (approx the number of days/year you'll be actually working on client projects, the rest of your time will be taken up with accounting, marketing, answering the phone etc). Now you have a daily rate. That's what you charge.
