Help with firework pics

Post Fri Jul 01, 2005 4:14 pm

I'm shooting firework photos for the newspaper on Monday and have no freaking idea how to do it so it's perfect. I will be on a dinner cruise out on the river and really REALLY want to get a large part of the fireworks, the reflection in the water, and even perhaps the light of it off of someone's face.

any tips on exposure? settings? anything? :D

Sounds like you have a wonderful opportunity! I'm thinking having someone, something interesting in the foreground is a must.

Here's some interesting reading though:

Thanks, Lee! I read the article very interesting..unfortunatley I live where there are no tall buildings to get into.. so I'm going to have to do them looking up, more than likely.. Good ideas though.. thank god the fireworks go on for a while.. i'm sure i'll mess up a lot..lol
