How SP Friday ruined my day.

Post Fri May 27, 2005 3:01 pm

It's a long story. My Canon A85 gave me the dreaded E18 error message and the lens is stuck open with no response. I told my lovely wife Bonnie that I thought I just might get a new camera while I send the Canon off to get fixed....So...I went and bought a Sony Cybershot P200 to the tune of $450 and today is like my second day of using it. I'm out this morning with my pal Buddy on our daily jaunt and I am just taking some awesome photo's and decide to get in a couple for SP Friday...I set up next to some dramatic water reflections as a back drop...set the timer....and as I turned to run to get in place...I kicked the tri-pod and the camera went head first into the water...So my question is...what are my options?..Anyone had experience with wet cameras?

Oh no!

Household insurance is all I can think of...

If you bought on Credit Card you are probably covered for accidental Damage as technically the camera does not belong to you until you have paid your bill, quick phone them up!

If you bought it at a big box store like Best Buy, just take it back and say it doesn't work.

You have my sympathy that's got to be the ultimate bad SP experience! :(

Hope you find you're covered on insurance - I can't see any hope of drying the camera out.
