New to PAD

Post Tue Mar 22, 2005 9:02 pm

Okay I've decided to take the plunge. From what I've read being a pad'er should be a valuable, if not slightly nerve wracking learning experience.
If any of you experienced pad'ers have any tips or thoughts on how to keep my head above water during this exercise I'd love to hear them.

In the mean time here's my first couple of entries.

Just remember, the key here is PERSONAL discipline. Don't let it stress ya out and forget what others say about PAD rules. It's all about you and what you want to achieve.

Thanks guys. I'll try to keep it light..

As for PAD rules, I think I missed that meeting. What are these rules that I'm supposed to ignore, or is it bend?

Hi Stephen
the PaD rule is that you should post a photo, or better a "communicative idea" (photo+description) each and every day for 1 year at least.
All life long is most welcome
It's simple... ;-)

It's a definite challenge and a real learning curve but it's also amazingly satisfying, so good luck and enjoy!

hi Stephen
I am new to PAD. Ric's (my husband) friend, James jachurch has done his PAD for about a year now. It has been really good for Ric , he is in more frequent contact with James through their photography, especially since James and family have emigrated to Canada in the last couple of years. Ric rjyates started his PAD about a month ago and my interest increased a bit more and I started to look more often, but wasn't sure if I was committed enough. So I started a gallery but not a PAD......then, I was working in my office and suddenly thought, that would look great, I want to share that with someone. So it started.

It is a great community, everyone is so supportive, even if the photo isn't always that great, it is still a record of what you have done or where you have been that day. I am always looking for a picture where before I wouldn't have thought about it, am seeing some stunning photography from other PAD'ers and am getting great tips on taking better shots.

I cannot always see something to photograph but I always come up with something. I am really enjoying it. :D

I hope you enjoy it. It can be a real challenge sometimes. Go for it!
