Gary,
After I clicked send the little voice said, hey that was't right about the either or doing the PS grindstone. Shoulda said, "go out into the world with the intention of seeing what it is trying to show you."
Something like that.
There were frequent revelations after my first view of a white rainbow

that I sent to the weatherman (11-23-04) who introduced me to Atmospheric Optics:
http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/atoptics/phenom.htm
Only three days later there appeared before be something else that I had never before seen (or noticed, or "recognized for what it was") in the sky, a sundog. There was that tiny piece of rainbow color at the level of the early morning sun... (in this case the early morning rush to the shopping spree known as black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving when the merchants get a chance to get out of the red)

Only a few days after that, at the other end of the day, when the sun was sinking low, one of the displays seemed to be making a point of presenting itself to me, surprising me when I looked up from my computer and saw it just outside the window!
The world seems quite eager sometimes to show us what there is to see when we discover the way of seeing.

Why not get family, friends or colleagues to suggest one word themes for PaD images?

Definately try themes. For my PAD year so far, I have basically shot a different theme every week. For me, choosing themes helps me to focus my work and allows me to try different creative ways to express the theme. I basically pick a new theme each friday and then shoot it for 7 days (with the exception of december when I did the alphabet soup)

If you want some ideas, here are some I have done so far. Colors(one per week), Light, Shiny, Cars, Weather, Nature, Music, Technology, Candy and my list goes on. For a while a few of my friends even joined me in my themes...but they didnt' have what it took to stick it out :)

I've just finished my PaD, rather unexpectedly. I didn't want to, but cannot function well enough just yet.

In its place I've created my gallery Intermission to which I'm posting previously unpublished photos. http://www.pbase.com/clickaway/intermission

Hopefully I can start doing a real PAD gallery again in the future.

Welp, a week ago I went out and brushed a small dusting of snow off the car for my wife.. came inside and had a heart attack after she left for work  , .. after a week of hospitalization... I'll possibly resume my PaD efforts when I feel a bit better

I'm a PAD beginner so comment with care! However I do enjoy the photo plus chat that some PADDERS do. I know a photo is worth a 1000 words etc...., but often the words really mesh with the image to create something special! Might take the pressure of 'must create'! It is frustrating when the photo is just taken because it's 23.59hrs!

Just a thought :) ....

Popped you on my artist list so will keep an eye on things!!!! No pressure then

:D

Yes I would often cut posting my PAD very close to the edge, but keep in mind the problems Pbase was having recently. This does not mean that everyone who did this was struggling to "get the shot" (there were a few occasions for me where this was so) but more often was not and was more due to uploading images to Pbase was very difficult or impossible at times.
