When I was doing Photo-A-Day, I couldn't shoot each and every day
unless I was sometimes just going to put up some hastily made
snapshot. And for me, that would have defeated the learning and
growing purpose. Besides which, after years of shooting, I just
know that at least for myself, I'm just not creative each and
every day.
I do, however, find that my creativity goes in spirts -- that I might
have a few days of not even picking up my camera, and yet one
day or another where I just seemingly go hog wild with my shooting.
And so that would usually tie me over for my next few days of
posting a Photo-A-Day image (and hopefully present to others
something more than just a hastily made snapshot which I made
with little or no caring at all).
But each of us is different. For me, Photo-A-Day wasn't so much
about picking up my camera each day... I don't need a year long
project to know I can do that... but rather to take some time each
week or every few days to push myself a bit, to try new things
with the image making, to do a bit of learning, to do a bit of
growing, and to maintain my sense of fun and passion for
this medium we use.
