Comments for DODGY photo.

Why doe's everyone gives comments only for good photos? Here is an idea: i won't feel offensed if someone give a comment that photo is boring, uninteresting or something. That will allow me to delete photos which are not interesting for publicity. I've got always problem with choice - too many. Also this will result in having galleries, which are more interesting!

Many of your photos appear to have a 'lomo' style and I'm not a fan of this. Therefore, if I had the time I would choose not to keep several of your photos!

Please take the time to comment on other peoples work and you will get more feedback.

I think that first you should ask yourself why you choose to display your photographs - because they mean something to you or as crowd pleasers?

I would agree with Ray - whilst the 'Lomo' principal (dont think, just point and shoot) works well sometimes as you can get some great surprise moments, you should not necessarily display them all (and you'll have a hell of a lot of work to do in sorting the good ones). You have some nice moments in your galleries, but also some dull ones in my opinion - but if the seamingly dull to me means something to you, then put them in your family album but not your public albums.

My advice - study some of the popular galleries and when you find a shot that you love, compare it with your own work - ask yourself what your pictures are saying - do they tell a story? do they show something that the casual eye doesn't see? is it beautiful? or terribly ugly? is it so ordinary that it has become extraordinary. Show only what YOU think is a good shot - if you dont know that you have captured it, chances are you haven't. Above all though, remember these are your photos that you take for your own pleasure, not other peoples.

I know that is easy for me to say, and I may have enough seamingly boring shots in my own galleries - but I know that every shot is there for a reason - it means something to me.

If you get a lot of hits and comments on some pics, but few hits and comments on others - maybe this tells you whether others consider them interesting or boring shots.

I like your style…I commented on a few shots I didn’t care for…most of all the ones I didn’t comment I like. Pbase doesn’t do much on the negative comments. If you want negative you might try DPChallenge.com

Pbase is a great site to display your work. It gets tons of traffic, so if you are trying to sell images, it works. Or you can just post for the fun of it. But if you are looking for critiques, forget it. Pbase is more a site of egos. You vote for me, I'll vote for you and we will both be popular but for all the wrong reasons.
