Get together in the English Lake District

Post Sat Oct 21, 2006 6:55 pm

Hi everyone.

Fancy a weekend here ?

Image

I am thinking to organise a photographic weekend get together, after the success of PBase meetings in Scotland, London, Bristol and elsewhere.

My suggestion is to meet in the Lake District, and stay over Friday and Saturday nights in a country pub. During the days we could walk, talk and take pictures at a leisurely pace - this is not intended to be a hiking adventure. In the evenings we could eat and drink, and share stories in the pub.

I am keen to do this because I think it would be fun to make 'internet' photography a bit more social!

There would be no charge but you would have to cover your own travel and accommodation costs. I think we would need to keep numbers reasonably small, if only to find a pub we could all fit in!

If you would like to take part, let me know and also say which weekends in November you could make it. If there are enough people interested, I will happily coordinate people, time and places.

I'd jump at the chance normally - it's a superb idea. But due to other commitments, I'm out of circulation until the New Year.

Very best of luck with it. And please bear me in mind another time.

This sounds lovely... but I have trouble getting a "day pass" let alone a "weekend pass"! Would maybe be able to do it next year - too many things on this year :o) Great idea for a photographic get together!

Thanks, Bill. I'd be interested in attending, though it would need to be a weekend which my other half is working.

Also, I'd have to warn you that I'd be intending some 'landscape photographer' early starts!

Cheers!

Sounds a great idea Bill, I'll need to get a weekend pass though. Any date in Nov is OK for me.

A great time was had by us all - Linda, David, David, Pat and me - good company, food, scenery, and a great little railway.

Here we are in the sunshine:
