I wouldn't recommend to 'Do your image processing without the color
profile', but make sure to convert to sRGB before uploading to the
internet! To convert to sRGB in Photoshop (CS and earlier, I think they
changed the menus in CS2) go Image>Mode>Convert to Profile...
Most browsers are not color-profile aware, but some Mac browsers are,
like Safari (and optionally IE). If you are on a Mac, my guess is that your
images have the AdobeRGB color profile embedded. The original images
show correctly to you, but not to most other people (PC-users). They will
see colors similar to those in the medium and small sized versions.
You could also shoot in sRGB to start with, or if you shoot RAW, make the
output from the RAW converter be in sRGB.
