Ever sensitive to people's feelings... :)

Looks like we have enough interest to do something. I'll put a proposal to those listed over the weekend - let me have your ideas/thoughts. There's always the zoo, but someone will need to lend me a 5D and suitable lenses!

Recommendations from other meets is that it's better to propose one date and activity and not to float lots of ideas around on the forum :)

So get the red wine out tonight and the map book and send me your thoughts.. wheee should be fun!

Cheers

Ian (from Chester, near the Southern bit of North West England :))

What worked well for the London meetup was to have two meetup rendezvous times 10am and 12.30am at somewhere that was warm, dry and with food/drink available. After that it was totally flexible.

What perhaps would have been good would be to have had a final 'parting' rendezvous time - say 4pm - so that people didn't just disappear or get separated.

Also, once we gauged the interest from the forum we made the detailed arrangements by email to avoid any Internet weirdos spoiling things.

Looking forward to it! Chester sounds a great venue.

(Ref 'North' debate: - Cheshire is just a small county near Staffordshire, anyway!! LOL)

Thanks John, great to have your experience on this. I'll do that. Will give it another week to give everyone a chance and then email around a proposal. Including a detailed map for those venturing so far into the wilds :)

Oh don't forget y'all get your passports up-to-date!

Being from the deep south, I don't know Chester very well at all, but I've just looked at the town's web page and it lists various events in and around the city for 2006.

Now that I've been to the London meet, I appreciate the need to have photo opportunities that work in dull as well as sunny weather, and that are varied given that several of us will be posting shots.

I'd also suggest we meet in a place that can handle say 8-10 people together. Anyone know any seedy out of centre cafes that serve strong tea and a greasy breakfast? :)

Egg, bacon, Sausage, toast and tea! (don't like tomato, but you can if you like plus brown sauce no doubt)

Good points :)

Any other takers and I'll email offline.

I rarely browse the forums so I have only just spotted this. I'm always happy to meet up with other photographers, I have met several from other sites but not PBase.

I'm based in Southport, and happy to travel around for photo opportunities / get togethers, so should be able to fit in with any NW venue.

I also do a lot of trips away (day / weekend / week) taking photos and don't object to others tagging along sometimes, so if anyone wants to join up with me get in touch. Sometimes a few days away somewhere scenic can be very economical if renting a cottage and splitting the cost, as well as a great social event.

Anyway, I may not get around to watching the forum develop, but please feel free to get in touch if you want to get together for a chat or join me on a day trip somewhere. If the big get together comes off, please drop me a line through my PBase profile.

Cheers,
Graham

OK - it's a go - details now being considered!

This meet will now go offline, as recommended by previous meet PaDers :)

If you'd like to be included just drop me a line through the pbase message system.

Cheers

Ian
