im going NYC need advice

hello everyone, after all this time being just a surfer in pbase i decided to be a member and participate since ive been learning a lot.

ill be going to new york (1st time) on the weekend of 4th of july. i konw there will be fireworks, i was wondering if anyone can suggest a nice spot where i can get a nice city view plus the fireworks? well aside from that any must go places to take pics of NYC ??

I don't usually hang out over here and haven't been to New York for years. That said, I'd suggest taking one of the boat tours that circles the city, that will get you a view of many of the highlights (bridges, the UN, Liberty Island and some suggestions of places to seek out from the land side maybe. It will likely be crowded but if possible, consider getting to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island - seen but not landed during circle tours IIRC. Besides the obvious, they offer a stable platform for shots of parts of Manhattan.
