Going to Paris

Post Mon Sep 08, 2008 8:24 pm

I will be in paris for 9 days
I was wondering what I should go for that usaly not in the books and what I should skip.

And is there a lot of places that do not let you in with a tripod and a backpack (camera bag)?

Hi Alex,

When I went recently I just visited famous tourist sites like the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Quartier Latin etc. etc. so I will leave the inside knowledge to the Parisians! But regarding your other question - I carried round a camera bag everywhere and I did not get any hassle at all when taking photos inside museums, candids of people in the street, photos taken while standing in front of police, private buildings etc. etc. In fact it was a breath of fresh air in comparison to other large cities where I've been taking photographs in the past six months - London and New York. Not sure about a tripod, but overall the attitude to photography seemed very relaxed.
