tips on visiting architecture in Chicago...

Post Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:49 pm

I plan to visit Chicago in august and was wondering if anyone has ever done some architecture session in that city??

I was wondering more on the Prairy Houses by Frank Lloyd Wright. Is it prohibited to do pictures of them??? Cause i know that they are private houses...Or does anyone know were they are located???

if you have any other suggestion of interesting buildings to photograph, i would really appreciate....
everything in chicago and maybe in the sorroundings...

cheers,
agron

hi,

I would suggest that the quickest way to see most is through the architecture boat tour. It was very interesting. Here is my Chicago main gallery. http://www.pbase.com/yardbird/usa_chicago.

Hope you have a great time in Chicago. I've fallen in love in the two years that I've been here.

Cheers
Karthik

I agree with the other poster about the architectural boat tour. August is a great time to visit Chicago as the weather is nice. The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) offers awesome Chicago River boat tours each day which allow you to get both great pictures and learn a lot about the area. Walking up and down State Street, Michigan Avenue, or visiting Millenium Park can also give you some great photo opportunities.
The nearby suburb of Oak Park has a ton of Frank Lloyd Wright houses as well. The Robie House in Hyde Park (about 10 miles south of Chicago) is also a Frank Lloyd Wright.

Hope you enjoy your stay!
