Cuba in 2008

Me and a friend are going to Cuba for about two weeks next summer!
I'm going there for the nature and culture, my friend just tags along!

Where should we go, and where MUST we go?
Probably going to stay in Havanna unless something "better" comes up!

If you want to see a lot then I would recommend a road trip.
Viñales and Trinidad are a must see.

I went to Cuba with two friends back in 2006

We stayed in a great hotel in Havana: Hostal los frailes

It’s a converted monastery and very atmospheric.

We actually went to 3 places in Cuba, Havana, Miramar and Isla de la Juventud (the island of youth)
Havana was by far my favourite. Music, atmosphere and culture. Miramar was dreadful in comparison (in my humble opinion) rich villas and Cuban chavs around the pool with Dance music blaring out. We only stayed one night at the end of the holiday and I was ready to come home. Isla de la Juventud was lovely because it was so small and quite different (and I got to go scuba diving )
