Here are some photographs. I didn't have my SLR with me so I used my father's point and shoot Sony. It's a handy little thing :-)

I was looking in to traveling to Thailand next year but found warnings on a lot of travel sites about it being unsafe. Did you feel unsafe...what was it like for you?

You didn't ask it from me but I didn't feel unsafe when I was there.
But I didn't visit on the most bad looking places at the night time with my camera gear =) but at the day time I didn't have any problems.

My Thailand photos:

Ps.
I visited on Galapagos Island and Ecuador this year and our guide was telling us all the time how unsafe it's to be out there (Quito, Ecuador) alone but I didn't feel myself more unsafe there than any other place.
Probably most text/guides etc. are scarying peoples so that they don't do anything stupid (example go out alone when they are drunk etc.).

My understanding is that there are two areas that are "unsafe" - up by the Burmese border where there is sporadic fighting and down on the Malaysian border.

I did go up to the Burmese border and crossed into Burma at Mae Sai but the situation had to be checked the day you planned to go and you have to play it by ear.

Down by Malaysia is difficult (like in Hat Yai) and my thought would be that is unsafe though I'm sure some people have gone there and had no problems. I personally would skip it but it has to be your own decision.

As to the rest , I didn't feel unsafe - just take the usual precautions you'd take anywhere.

It's only unsafe when the bombs are going off - Personally I'd say you have more chance of being killed in a car accident. But I guess it does occasionally happen............however it won't stop me from travelling.

I was in Thailand a few years ago as a single 20 year old female, stayed in the industrial region with only locals. Very friendly amazing people. Never worried about being robbed at any hour. When I was in Bangkok I was chased down the street by a Thai trying to return 500 baht I had dropped!!! It blew me away.
