I enjoyed this gallery. Turkey is a destination I'd love to visit some day. Now I have even more reasons to go. Thanks for sharing.

Hi!

I also have never been in Turkey. But now I´m really interested in visiting this country. Your pictures give a really good impression of this country, the nature and the people.

Thanks and have a good time.

Hi,
I have a fair sized set of galleries on Turkey, but I have to say yours is
much more colorful. Beautiful pictures.

We took away the same reaction - it's a wonderful place to visit.
More than anything, the history and land are both rich and varied.
And the people are unusually welcoming and warm, I found.

Help Needed for visit

Post Mon Jan 22, 2007 8:15 pm

Hi,

My wife and I plan to visit Turkey in March this year. i am in Chicago. We are wondering if 2 full days in Turkey would be enough to see most of the tourist places. We will be landing in Istanbul. If not, how much is there to see and how many days do you think we would need?
I have about 6-7 days off so my initial plan is to spend 2 days in Turkey and 4 days in Italy.

Any advice on hotels, travel agents, visa will also help.

Thanks for all your help
Karthik

Photos from Turkey

Hi,

We are back from our Turkey trip, and needless to say it was one awesome trip. The most amazing thing that struck me was that Turkey with 99% Muslim population is still a secular state. It owes that to its history, but still. What that means for a tourist is that you are allowed into every mosque, even the most functional of ones. This was a quite a cultural experience for us.

Istanbul is also unique since the clash of Europe and Asia is so clear. We got to do a lot of things squeezed into 5 days, and we tried to not only see as much as we can but also eat as much as we could. Ottoman cuisine is tasty. And the sweets!!! yummy!

So here are the pictures...

Thanks to everyone who respond to my queries. We had a great time.

Thanks
Karthik
