Cincinnati has a metro population of 2.1 million people with Dayton 48 miles north with a metro of 1 million people making a metroplex of 3 million people. Here is a map of the metros and how they bleed together from sprawl:

Image

The city of Cincinnati is primarily democrat/liberal with the suburbs being republican/conservative. The city is 1 1/2 hours from Indianapolis, Columbus, Dayton, Lexington and Louisville while and only a 4 hour drive from Canada and a 7 hour drive from Washington DC.

Cincinnati enjoys all 4 season and has moderate winters with about 22 inches of snow a year, although we had around 30 inches last year. In contrast, Cleveland only 3.5 hours away had over 100 inches of snow. Cincinnati does has humid summers but they are far milder than the cities in the south and that was apparent from my last trip to the Norfolk, VA area which reminded me how much more bearable our summers are from cities to the south.

Cincinnati is also home to professional sports in Major League Baseball (MLB) and the National Football League (NFL). There are three prestigious universities in the metro (2 in the city) in Xavier University, University of Cincinnati and Miami University. All offer competitive sports and good academics.

Cincinnati is also a very historic city and in 1860, was the 7th most populous city in the US. Because of Cincinnati's role in the early days of America, current day Cincinnati is fortunate to have some of the most beautiful architecture for a city of its size.

The topography is beautiful with hills surrounding the river basin and downtown. It is commonly known as the hilliest city in the Midwest. The city Cincinnati closely resembles is Pittsburgh with its topography similar to its West Coast cousin, Portland.

Cincinnati is home to some of the US’s biggest companies in Proctor & Gamble, Kroger, Federated Department Stores (Macy’s Bloomingdales), Chiquita Banana, Convergys, plus many others.
