Niagara Falls, Ontario (Skyline, Falls, Clifton Hill)

Post Wed Jul 20, 2005 12:52 pm

Well I posted my Niagara Falls, NY photos about two weeks ago and have been slow in posting these photos. During our July 4th weekend getaway we went to Niagara Falls and stayed on the Ontario side. The place was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen which is hard to imagine when you are driving through typical middle of the road farm land around Erie, PA. Even when you go through Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY it is hard to imagine this hidden treasure.

Niagara Falls, Ontario is a great place to vacation. It is very walkable and I made a point to park my car for the weekend and never touch it again. We stayed in the Clifton Hill Entertainment District (Thank You Hotwire.com for another successful selection) and were around everything we could have asked for. You name it there was a tourist place that had it.

Alas, here are my photos from the Canadian side and I must say that the Canadian hospitality is some of the best in the world. I felt the same way when I went to Vancouver many years ago.

Clifton Hill Entertainment District - There were more people walking the streets in this little district than you would find in cities with 3 million people in their metro. It was touristy but it was full of energy and lots of people. I would definitely like to go back and explore this area more.

Clifton Hill is home to street vendors, clubs, bars, cafes, chains, hotels, and plenty of novelty stores and haunted houses. Like I mentioned in another thread it was like a walkable International Drive in Orlando.

All in all we had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone! Hope you enjoyed the photos and feel free to see more of my photos at http://www.cincyimages.com
