Spots with first pictures with new camera?

Ok. New D70. Took the camera out of the box and had the body open 5 seconds to attach the lens (literally holding my breath all the while).

Spots on blue sky background. I figure it must be dust somewhere inside because I've cleaned the lens to no avail.

Is this the dreaded sensor dust? Is it normal to have to buy the cleaning kit and conduct the sensor cleaning operation with the camera just out of the box?

Sorry if this sounds like a rant - I'm a little disappointed with the troubling start on my new digital photography journey. Any wisdom would be welcome.

To be sure maybe you can post a picture here, because sometimes are just some bad parts on the CCD (wich translate into a pixels problem)
