Kodak DX6490

I am buying Kodak DX6490 and need your help.
Which memory card should I buy for this camera and what speed?
I am interested with 512MB size.

Get two 256M cards instead.

The Kodak is pretty agressive in compression (the pictures look fine but are small coming out of the camera).

A 256M card will hold 500+ pictures (in the highest resolution best). So its a little dangerous to keep 1000 pictures on one device without backup.

I have a Lexar and a Memorex card, both work fine. I also used a SanDisk 512M card and didn't have any problems. I moved the SanDisk to my 5MP camera and have stuck with the 256M for the Kodak.

If you want even more space (and a good backup) look at getting a digital wallet.
