Sony DSC-V1 + Wide Zoom + Better Colors?

Hi,

I'm about to buy Sony DSC-V1 - it's compact and it makes excellent shots in low light conditions, but there are things I don't like about it - are there any alternatives?
1) Wide Zoom is only available with additional lens - and it's a must to make photos on narrow European streets
2) colors are not saturated, details are lost (at least when compared to various Fuji cameras with SuperCCD). Manually increasing saturation makes colors unnatural. I thought about Olympus 5060WZ, but its colors are even worse - take a look at Mickey Mouse macro shot at http://www.dcresource.com.

I hope to find some advice here (after many nights spent exploring galleries and cameras at dcresource, pdreview and pbase).
