Hi all,

I am contemplating of getting a used Tokina AIS 80-200mm f/2.8 AT-X
lens. Well, that the cheapest f/2.8 I can afford.

I am new Nikonian convert. (Formerly P-S). So kind of not familiar with Nikon camera and lenses.

Any feedback welcome

I've used the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 and am pretty impressed with it. What's also nice is that the compatible teleconverters come in 1.4x and 2.0x sizes. So at the fat end what you can have is a 400m f5.6... and factoring the image multiplier factor you have yourself there a fairly long range, fairly fast lens at a fraction of the cost :)
