Has anyone seen?

Yesterday while watching a freestyle ski event, I saw what appeared to be a 300 or 400 f2.8 (front glass was the size of my face), with a carbon fiber lens body. In all likelyhood it was a Canon mount but alas I didn't get more than a quick look as it wandered past. Was I seeing things?(very possible) Has anyone seen anything like this out there? Has anyome got a spare 10 large I can have so I can have one too?
