when shooting under stage lighting... how can i get some of the harsh red out of my images. any help with white light balance. as well as the back light brighter than the subject? any comments on using the vivid or sharper settings . most of my stuff i shot in poor lighting.

Have you tried shooting in Nikon raw format? This will give much greater control over image parameters either in the native Nikon raw processing app or in Photoshop (there are other raw processors too).
