That explains the recent drop in 40D prices. I knew Canon was trying to get rid of them for whatever reason. But looks like the 5D is going to break a record!

My thoughts exactly! Nikon come out with a full frame not too long ago, though maybe it's within the Pro Line, so doesn't affect 5D sales. Once someone
releases one to compete, Canon will be forced to respond. Maybe we need to keep our eye on Olympus , they're usually in the mix enough to pull it off,
and they've been quiet for awhile.

B&H says that their Estimated availability/delivery for the 50D will be October.
