i see that in the usa you can buy the nikon d300 at half the price,will evrything work ok in the uk if i bought one when i go over there and bring it back

Yes - you'll just need an adapter for the battery charger. You might want to look into the international warranty to make sure you're covered, otherwise that 50% saving could rapidly be worthless!!

There might also be "duty" (import) charges you need to check into?
