This subject has already probably been dealt with in this forum, but I couldn't find it.

I'm heading to NY soon and will purchase either the Nikon D300 or D3. Would there be any valid reason to choose the D300 over the D3? I'm shooting landscapes, adventure travel and mountaineering primarily for print media. My lenses are already compatible with the D3's large (FX) sensor so this isn't an issue.

How about the new D700, also a full-frame DSLR, with the same sensor as the D3? The D700 sits in between the D300 and D3.
