Old SIGMA lens with DSLRs?

Post Sat Jul 19, 2008 8:25 pm

Hi Folks - I have an old Nikon F50 that I bought in 97 with couple of Sigma lenses - Sigma 28-80/3.5-5.6 Macro and a Sigma 70-300 Macro DL/4-5.6. All made in Japan (if that matters). Like others I moved from film cameras to digital automatics in early 2000s and have not used the F50 and the sigma lenses for years. I want to now invest in a DSLR. I consider myself an amateur with 80% of my pictures about family and vacations.
Couple of questions for experts:
1. Would I be able to find a good DSLR body that works with these old lenses to get an overall good system that works for my kind of usage ?
2. Any good use of my old f50 ? I am guessing there are films still out there though I would expect their processing to be expensive. Just looking for advice.

thanks for your help !

-Puneet
