Try the Panasonic FZ50 or wait for the anticipated update. The FZ50 lacks good low light capability and has purple fringing problems at longer focal lengths. Other than that it is said to be fantastic. The Leica lens has great optics and dampened manual focus and zoom rings. In a store it felt very good in my hands, but the miss on low light stopped my purchase. They do not have to have such a long zoom (28-200 would be great) in order to attract a fast growing high level amature / semi pro crowd. The accessory tele adapter would be enough for many of us. I am waiting to see what Panasonic introduces next.
