Which Nikon D80 Package?

I was wanting to invest into a Nikon D80. I've been getting really interested into photography and was wanting to start. The point of the post was to ask for peoples opinions that have enough experience to actually talk about the camera and not just copy and paste some reviews they found on google.
I also wanted to know if it was possible to use lenses off of my dad's Nikon F70 and put them on a D80. I know that if it does work the lens will act a little bit different. What types of things would it effect?
I will be most likely purchasing it from B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/). On the site there are 2 options I'm deciding between. They are:
D80 SLR Digital Camera Kit with 18-135mm Lens $1009.95
- Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED Lens
OR
D80 SLR Digital Camera Kit with 18-55mm VR Lens $889.95
- Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR AF-S DX Lens
So I'm leaning towards the 18-135mm lens because it will give me a lot more versatility but I'm worried that the 18-135mm lens won't be as good quality as the 18-55m with vibration reduction. My suspicion becomes even greater when the difference of the packages is only $120. I would think that a 18-135mm would be a lot more expensive than a 18-55mm lens but I may be wrong. If someone that is very knowledgeable in this area, I would love to hear your opinions.
thanks so much.
