EOS Rebel Lens Question

Post Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:05 pm

I have a Rebel xti and absolutely love it, I am in the market for a autofocus zoom lens but I am not sure which to buy, i have several close up lenses from tamron and they work great. I need to figure out which zoom to use for action that is 150ft or so away, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt

150 ft is not that far away so i think a 70-200 would suit your needs!
At 200mm you will have a 6ft subject fill your image vertically at about 150ft.

You didn't mention budget so I'll recommend getting one of the "L" 70-200's from Canon!
70-200mm f/2.8 IS L
70-200mm f/4 IS L
70-200mm f/4 L

Don't discount the 70-300 IS, it's no L series but it is certainly far better than any of the previous 70-300 and 75-300 models.

admittedly for a little more you can get the 70-200 F4 L (non IS version) which is a constant f4 and higher IQ and gets quite high commendations but the 70-300IS is no slouch, gets good reviews and is a great travel lens.
there is no .sig
