Casio Exilim EX-Z3 3.2MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom and Dock ..
my daugter received this camera for a wedding present and it was used during the wedding for candid shots..it was good but some of the closeups were distorted and the nighttime shots were dark...the other camera is due out on august 14 and runs around the same price..$399 but it is 5mp compared to 3.1mp..Vivitar Vivicam 3930 5MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom

and take a look at the Sony 717 which can be bought around $550

For what kind of photography are you going to use it?
Nikon and Sony are good for close up.
Canon has very little noise at iso50 and 100.

#3 where can you get SONY DSC717 around $550 ?

Take a look at the HP Photosmart 850 or the new 945, I've had my 850 for 8 months and I'm well happy.

Sony Mavica 300 I have. They now have higher mega pixel. Mine is 3.something. They greatest thing is that the camera burns photos to mini disc which are cheap hold hundreds of pictures and go right into cdrom drive computer. Discs ar write or re write about 5 dollars or less each. Great for travel no need to down load. Camera can be set to manual also.
