I'VE BEEN USING A 5700 FOR ABOUT NINE MONTHS NOW AND i STILL APPEAR TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING REALLY SHARP FOCUS. i'M AN EXPERIENCED PHOTOGRAPHER, HAVING USED eos5 AND 3 UNTIL THEY WERE PINCHED IN TANZANIA.
Any thoughts on getting the 5700 really pin sharp woulld be appreciated.
Cheers

I've been working with a coolpix 950 for 4 years and a 4500 for 1 week. The sharpness/unsharpness seemes the same on both. Then I found that stopping down really helped - use aperture priority and stop down, but watch out for slow shutter speeds!

I too am an experienced photographer -- 40 years in the field and own a 5700 which I hate. Not an easy camera to use. Certainly can't use long zoom without a tripod. Also camera is a bit light to hold which I think may be the real problem. F/8 was a good suggestion but you already would know that. Post imaging sharpness is a must (as it is on almost all digital cameras. I gave up on the 5700 and got a Panasonic FZ10 ... 12x optical zoom, IMAGE STABILIZED. Works very well.
