HP Photosmart 945 - compression question

Does anyone know how to reduce the compression for photos on this camera. The lowest compression appears to be 1296x976. When I try to e-mail a picture to someone they receive it as a large image that can't be viewed without scrolling. I think I need 800x600, but I'm not sure if there is software that will do that for me, or if I need to return the camera and get something else. HP hasn't been much help so far, but I'll have to call them back with the serial number otherwise they won't help me other than to say they think it will do it.

Thanks!

In general you want to capture in the largest resolution possible and then scale the picture down after saving it.

You didn't really buy a 5MP camera to put out 0.5MP images did you???

Pick up a copy of irfanview (free software) at http://www.irfanview.com/
You can then scale the picture to whatever size you want after you shoot it.
