Cleaning the lens cloth

Post Sat Jan 17, 2004 4:37 am

 Maybe a silly question, but I just want the ideas of others. Please forgive me

You use a lens cloth to clean the lens, but how do you clean the lens cloth itself after it scrubbed out greasy finderprints, debris and other stuff that can anoy the lens? Can you simply put it under a sink and rinse it with no solvents at all? or should you throw it in the laundry along with you shirts, pants, skirts, underwear and other stuff you usually throw in there?

Hand wash it or throw it in the laundry.

I've had that same question. It doesn't come perfectly clean in the laundry for me ...detergent residue? We have a water softener but maybe it's not doing enough to help the rinse process. Even when I omit fabric softener it's not clean enough from the washing machine. I tried handwashing and got better results but you have to rinse it a lot. If hard water is a problem in your area there is always washing with bottled water I guess. Nothing more frustrating than a smeary lens cloth! :x
