Fuji S7000 Nikon 5700 Olympus C5050

Post Sun Jan 11, 2004 11:27 pm

I'm looking at the 3 camera's in the subject line.
Any input (experiences, etc) on these models is appreciated.
I'd like your opinion, which "one" would you buy?
I take general pictures, ALOT of low light pix (musicians, bands),
and mostly indoor pix compared to outdoors.
My wife will also be using it (point & shoot), so I need ease of use.
I've enjoyed taking SLR 35mm photo's and I'm trying to
get "similar" results. Vivid, sharp, quick shutter, auto features with
ability to go in manual mode. Quality built construction.
I'd like to stay in the $500-600 range.
Thanks guys, I hope you can help with my decision.
From the three camera's, which one would you buy??

:D Hi !

For the low light photographs... Don't choose de Cp 5700... I have one and I can tell you it's AF is quite weak in those light conditions... :?

Friendly

I have the Olympus C5050 and love it. It is good for low light, great for those who want point and shoot or who want to take full control.

As for the C-5050 in particular I can't say, but I Own the C-4040Z and have taken some great low light/noflash images with it that turned out awesome.

I recently passed it on to my wife in order to talk her into letting me purchase the C-5060WZ. While I haven't really had a chance to use it indoors yet, I have fallen in love with it as a camera in general.

I have always loved the images I have taken as well as seen online taken by other owners.

Hi,

My opinion - S7000 plasticky feeling. Quite noisy pictures.
Nikon 5700 - As mentioned, low light focusing could be a problem.
C5050 - already an old model replaced by C5060 which is a great overall
camera. Has all the manual settings you want. Takes both xD and CF card. Great pictures. Solid build. My choice. Was using it till I upgraded to D70.

Personaly i can recomend thr 5050z, i have had mine for over a year, i have recently stopped using it with the purchasing of a Nikon D100.
The 5050 is a top camera, very capable in all conditions, it never failed to help me take a good picture, there is even a user group over on MSN

It has so much noise, particular at low light condition.
