I generally buy from B&H, but they are so popular that on certain items they'll sometimes be out of stock. For example, last summer I was wanting to buy a 500 f/4, and every time I was ready to pull the trigger and order it, B&H was out of stock on it, as was Adorama. I'd read some good recommendations for
Allen's Camera, but they don't have an online store. I'm usually all about online shopping so it's very rare that I'll deal with a place that doesn't have a web presence. However, I called and they said they had plenty of the 500 f/4 in stock, and it was $100 less than B&H! They were great to deal with on the phone and I'd definitely recommend them, especially in that type of situation. Actually in some ways it could be advantageous that they are not online, since with high-demand items they might be more likely to have them in stock.
