How do you create effects like

I would like to create the shadow and white background for a couple of my pics.
Thanks!

I have access to Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements 2

I dunno if photoshop has it or not, but paint shop pro has a borders and frames option. That's what it looks like to me, someone applied a frame to it.

Maybe check out the software that came with your camera (assuming digital here), It may have some options for you.

Good luck.

This will be a little bit in shorthand but it's pretty easy in photoshop.

1) Dup the image to a new layer
2) Expand the background to set the border for the picture
3) Fill the background with white

-------- At this point your picture is on another layer "floating" above a white background.

4) Apply a drop shadow to the picture layer.
Photoshop/Elements has a bunch of options on the drip shadow or you can take the layer made by the shadow and apply a gaussian blur to it.
5) Tweak until you like it.

---------
For pictures of the screens to look for and menus do a search in the help under "Drop shadow"
