Digital Nightmare

Hello everyone,

I know this is not the correct section to post under for a question like this but I cannot find the right place to post.

I recently was taking photos of my brothers graduation on my 2.2 GB Magicstor drive when the camera locked up and came up with a card error. I tried downloading the photos from the camera directly to the computer as well as downloading them through the card reader but neither will recognize the media card. I know there are recovery sevices around but I cannot find any that are in my price range and that will help. Does anyone know of any reliable recovery services that I can use to recover these photos?

Once I get these recovered I will be sure never to use a Magicstor drive again. I have seen problems like this on other forums with Magicstor drives so once this has been resolved I am going back to Hitachi.

Thanks

Try doing a search on the Storage and Media forum at http://www.dpreview.com.

Thank you for the information. I have come across that forum in the past but could not remeber the name of the website. I did find some useful information on the site, mainly how to prevent it from happening again which will help in the future but not with the images already lost. I think I am about to throw in the towel. If anyone has any future suggestions on how to recover these photos please reply.

Thank you.

Don't know if this will help, but try posting a thread on this web site forum, http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk maybe someone there can help you with this, there are some pretty knowledgeable guys there.
Jim.
