My husband inadvertantly deleted 8 years of my digital photography off my external HD. He was able to use a program to recover them but the majority of them will not open. The message says "Unable to complete your request because an unknown or invalid jpeg marker type is found. I have PS3.

I have tried everything I can think of including having someone who really knows computers come over to look at it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What is the complete file name of the ones that were recovered? What do they end with, to be specific?
