I like to take pictures with the macro or super macro setting of my camera and will often use unsharp mask to "crisp" things up a bit more. I also occasionally use gaussian blur to smooth out areas that the sharpening has made look awkward.

Do you all have any tips more getting your the subject of your shots nice and sharp?

PS: I use Adobe ImageReady, which is pretty much PhotoShop.
