Burst mode photo editing

I recently took some burst photo sets with my Panasonic TZ3 of a friend wakeboarding. I am looking for a program that will allow me to put 4-5 images of him jumping the wake into a single picture with a single background. I've seen these kind of pictures in sports magazines, etc. I am looking for a mac compatible program, but I also have access to windows xp. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1) Any photoshop type program that supports layers could be used by setting the transparency of the second picture then erasing areas on the layer. You then restore the transparency off.

You could even make a mask up with the addition/subtraction of two layers and then use the mask to show the difference.

2) Try a program that creates panoramas, you can stitch the files together to make a composite blended image.
