Software to change Canon EXIF fields?

I'm searching for software which allows changing Canon-specific EXIF fields (like "Owner's Name"). It must work in batch mode. I've spent weeks searching the internet, downloading and testing EXIF programs but no luck. Many programs (including PBase) claim to support full EXIF. But in reality they only support a limited number (PBase's "Full EXIF" actually only supports a mere 14 fields). I'm starting to get desperate at this point. Alternatively, if anyone knows of a C or Java library, SDK or source code I could modify which supports FULL EXIF, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update: hey, I just discovered a truly amazing program which appears to provide control over practically any kind of meta data known to man. It's called ExifTool by Phil Harvey and it's Freeware. It runs command-line under Windows, Perl and Mac OS. There may be GUI versions, also. So far it seems to allow me to easily change Owner's Name, among other things. And for thousands of photos at a time. Awesome power!

Here's the URL:

Phil Harvey rocks! And no, I don't know him personally I'm just helping to spread some good karma. Enjoy!

ExifTool is a great program, there is a GUI for it available as a freebie here:

The author frequently adds enhancements and other updates.

EDIT:
Here is a link to the author of the GUI at DPR. He's a frequent poster, he provides updates and adds some features by request.
