Banner Text Not Sharp

I made a quick banner as a test. In photoshop I entered text, flattened and saved as jpeg at highest quality.

In photoshop its tack sharp. On pbase it looks horrible.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

You're using the 679k version, 2272 pixels wide and letting pbase scale it
down for you to 'large' of 800 pixels across.

PBase resizes with no sharpening back.

You should just resize it yourself and, I think, make it less than 800 pixels
across, as 800x600 screens will not display the start and end of it.
These monitor settings still exist even for visitors to a heavy photo place
like pbase which will self-select out people with less capable
equipment), but also some people still prefer 800x600.

After you resize it, down to what you want, then call it with
"original.jpg" (and be sure to put that ".jpg" in there...

Liked your slideshow pictures. Such beautiful children.

Perfect!

I did not know pbase did that. All set, now to my next project.

Thanks for comments on the kids, taking lots of pics before they get too big!

Glad to see it's all working well. Yes, TIME speeds and they disappear
in stages to reappear in different form but you don't notice it as it happens,
so what you're doing is wonderful. The child is father of the man and all that,
though here I suppose it's mother of the woman :-) I love the spirit
captured with those shots.
