Newbie needing help

I have two pictures I'd like to make one. I have a picture of a man I'd like to put over a picture of a flag for a presidential candidate funny. The only way I can think to get him over the flag, though, is to use some sort of "Paint" application and trace around his body, then cut and paste. And I don't want to do that...is there anything that could make it look a little more...I don't know, artistic, rather than the pixelation caused by Paint? Thanks.

EDIT: Ah, and I have a Mac, if that helps or hurts any. I have access to Windows, but I'd rather use the Mac.

Photoshop will do it for you. You can use the magnetic lasso to get what you want and copy it to another picture. Photoshop Elements 4.0 is the latest and the cheapest version of photoshop.

I used version 3.0 to create the shot below from two pictures.
